Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions regarding Dubai business setup and corporate services.

1. What is the difference between a Mainland and Free Zone company in Dubai?

A Mainland company allows you to trade anywhere in the UAE and internationally, often requiring a local sponsor or service agent depending on the activity. A Free Zone company offers 100% foreign ownership and tax exemptions but typically restricts your physical trade to within that specific Free Zone or internationally.

2. How long does it take to set up a business in Dubai?

The timeline varies depending on the jurisdiction and business activity. Free Zone setups can often be completed in 3 to 7 working days, while Mainland company formation may take 1 to 2 weeks due to additional external approvals.

3. What is the UAE Golden Visa and who is eligible?

The UAE Golden Visa is a long-term residence visa (up to 10 years) that allows foreigners to live, work, or study in the UAE without a national sponsor. Eligibility includes real estate investors, entrepreneurs, exceptional talents, scientists, and outstanding students.

4. Do I need a local sponsor to open a business in Dubai?

Following recent changes in UAE corporate law, many commercial and industrial activities on the Mainland now allow 100% foreign ownership. However, certain strategic sectors still require a local Emirati sponsor. Free Zone businesses have always allowed 100% foreign ownership.

5. What Corporate PRO services do you offer?

Our PRO services cover all government liaison tasks, including visa processing (employment, dependent, investor), Emirates ID typing, labor card processing, trade license renewals, document attestations, and municipality approvals.

6. How does Corporate Tax affect my new business in the UAE?

The UAE introduced a standard Corporate Tax rate of 9% on taxable profits exceeding AED 375,000. Our tax readiness consultants will help you structure your finances, evaluate your Free Zone qualifying income, and ensure full compliance with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).

7. How long does the document attestation process take?

Attestation timelines depend on the country of origin of the document. Usually, it takes between 7 to 15 working days. We handle the entire process from notarization in the home country to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in the UAE.

8. Are your Legal Translation services recognized by UAE courts?

Yes. All our legal translations are certified and officially approved by the UAE Ministry of Justice, making them fully valid for use in all UAE courts, ministries, embassies, and official government departments.
